A. Parent and Community Involvement and Outreach: The school executive designs structures and processes which result in parent and community engagement, support and ownership for the school.
PTA involvement is a needed resource for our school families and community. This minutes page outlines some key events that will take place throughout the year and the role of the PTA.
The picture below is an example of an event I was supervising as an administrator and working as a liason with our PTA. Being an active member of groups within the school that support the school show the community you are all in as a leader. |
The parent advisory council meets quarterly to review the schools performance and needs. These parents are appointed and serve up to a two year term each. I found value in learning about the purpose of this committee and their impact within the school setting. I found that having parent voices is vital to school improvement.

Backpack buddies provides food to our students weekly by preparing bags of nonperishable foods that are sent home with students following family approval. These pictures show the partnership we have with First Baptist Church in Clayton that makes this possible. We frequently welcomed many visitors from our community and this showed our students and staff that where they live is important.
