BIOGRAPHY
Johnston County native and Smithfield-Selma High School graduate, Allison Price, graduated with Honors from East Carolina University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education-General Curriculum with Reading K-12. Following graduation, she taught at West Clayton Elementary School in Clayton, NC where she completed her student teaching, taught inclusion and resource for four years and taught one year in a self-contained Autism classroom. There, her leadership opportunities began as she orchestrated parent involvement activities and served as the Teacher Advisory Council Representative. Allison spent the next three years of her career at Cleveland Middle School, also in Clayton, where she was the Exceptional Children’s (EC) Department Chair, participated in the School Improvement Team and obtained an additional educational license in Middle Grades Math. The last four years, Allison has spent at Cleveland High School where she was chosen to open the first high school High Functioning Autism classroom in Johnston County. Allison served as the EC Department Chair for two years as well as an LEA representative for all four years. Allison served Cooper Academy during her Principal Residency. As an educational leader, Allison would like to continue to encourage all students to reach their potential in their community and to recognize that they are important to the world no matter their differences.
