Explicit Vocabulary Instruction in 3rd Grade Mathematics
My problem of practice was derived from various data sources and I determined I would focus on 3rd grade mathematics vocabulary instruction due to the decline in EOG scores over the last five years. I worked closely with one teacher and class for the data collection and implementation. However, this was shared with the 3rd grade PLC and was also determined that explicit vocabulary instruction was necessary school wide and is the direction our math committee is going moving forward.
